Mariners extend ticket deadline for Olympic
The Olympic High School baseball team is still selling Seattle Mariners tickets after Athletic Director Nate Andrews was granted an extension by the franchise last week.
Olympic played at Safeco Field in April, and in order to be invited back for 2012, the school needed to sell 1,000 tickets for the Mariners’ game against Tampa Bay on June 2.
The deadline passed with Olympic having sold 700 tickets.
The Mariners extended the deadline for Olympic, which needs to sell the remaining 300 tickets for Seattle’s Sept. 16 game against the Texas Rangers.
The matchup marks the final Friday home game of the regular season.
The seats are in the 300 level and are on sale for $12, $4 of that will go directly to the program. The face value price is $20.
Any individual or group who purchases 25 or more tickets for the Mariners game will have their name or business shown on the large television screen during the game.
Tickets can be purchased for friends, family, co-workers, employees or donated to an Olympic student.

Pumas beat Washington
The Kitsap Pumas continue to roll.
Nik Besagno and Robby Christner each scored a goal to lead the Bremerton soccer team to a 2-1 victory against the Washington Crossfire June 8.
The game, played in Redmond, included nine yellow card violations between both squads.
The Pumas improved to 7-0-1 (21 points) and lead the Northwest Division by 11 points over Vancouver.
Both goals from Kitsap were scored at the end of the first half.
Washington’s Matt Fisher was given a second yellow card in the 67th minute, leaving the team with one less player on the field.
However, the Crossfire responded with a goal on a free kick in the 89th minute. The goal was the first and last for Washington, who lost to the Pumas for the second time in four weeks. Kitsap head coach Peter Fewing used his reserves for the final 20 minutes of the game. Kendell McFayden, Graham Davidson, Elliott Fauske, Greg Miley, Chris Andre and Sam Roca each made their debuts for the Pumas. Kitsap’s next game is Friday, June 17 against Abbotsford (British Columbia) at home.
The Pumas are also currently competing in the U.S. Open Cup, a 40-team tournament that includes the five tiers of American professional soccer.
