Stevens Pass set to open for 2015-16 Winter season

LEAVENWORTH – Strap on your skis, zip up your snowboard jacket and get ready to fly through the pow, because Stevens Pass Mountain Resort will open Dec. 4 for 2015-16 winter operations.

Skiers and riders will have access to Daisy chairlift, the rope tow with rail park and a magic carpet for opening day. The resort will continue to add lifts and terrain as snowfall allows. Hours of operation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., conditions permitting.

“We are excited to get going for the 2015–16 winter season,” said Stevens Pass Mountain Resort General Manager Bill Bourton in a press statement.

“The forecast continues to look good and we are anxious to get the resort into full-swing for the season.”

Lift tickets are $20 for guests ages 16-19, $15 for ages 7-15 and will increase as additional terrain is added. Guest relations will be open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. to assist with any customer needs. Visit stevenspass.com for the full list of pass prices.

Food and beverages

Guests can warm up in the Granite Peak Lodge and will have multiple dining options throughout the weekend. The Cascadian Kitchen opens Friday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., T-Bar is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. daily and Bull’s Tooth will be open 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Ski and snowboard school

Group lessons for those 13 and older will be available including beginner and “Learn-In-3” lessons. Private lessons will be available for all ages at 50 percent discount.

Stevens Pass is located 78 miles east of Seattle on the crest of the Cascade Mountain Range. Stevens averages over 460 inches of snow annually, covering 1,125 acres of skiable terrain – including 39 named runs plus numerous bowls, glades and faces. The ski resort has a variety of terrain for every age and skill level. Normal winter operations run from late November to late April.
