Friends don’t let friends

kill people

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of threats made at 11:30 p.m. June 27 in the 900 block of Yoder Lane NE in East Bremerton. The caller was on the phone with the 31-year-old suspect who said he was waiting in the bushes at his home to kill his wife. He was reportedly armed with a lead pipe.

Deputies approached the house and found the man sitting on the porch holding a phone. He first denied saying he wanted to hurt his 38-year-old wife, but later told a deputy he was just blowing off “some steam” over the phone. The man added that the caller was not “a very good friend for sending law enforcement.”

The caller told deputies the man said he was going to hide in the bushes and wait for his wife. He then said he had picked out a place in the bushes to kill her and would hit her in the head with a lead pipe.

The man showed deputies where the pipe was located. It was a weight bar about 3 to 4 feet in length. The bar was empty, but weights were sitting nearby.

The man was arrested and booked into jail for harassment and an outstanding warrant. His bail is set at $25,000.
