PSNS, IMF employees dig deep for charity fund-raising campaign

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility’s (PSNS and IMF) Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) contributions exceeded expectations for the seventh year in a row.

Employees displayed their giving spirit, digging deep into their pockets for the good of their communities, the nation and around the world.

PSNS & IMF personnel raised more than $1.3 million for this year’s Combined Federal Campaign. PSNS and IMF team members give a majority of their donations through payroll deductions.

Many lunchtime fund-raisers and other events held during the campaign helped to exceed the command’s goal.

Events included softball and golf tournaments, an auction, classic car and motorcycle show, pie-eating contest, Halloween costume and pumpkin-carving contest, and jail and bail.

New this year was a poker run bringing in more than $1,600 and a dance contest raising $7,000 with 19 dancing duos participating.

“The team effort between the Bremerton and Bangor sites speaks volumes to the caliber of our workforce and how generous each and every one of you has been. You all should feel a great deal of pride for what we have been able to accomplish during this year’s campaign,” IMF Executive Officer Cmdr. David Kohnke said during a recognition ceremony last week.
