KINGSTON — The Viking baseball team is close to clinching its fourth Olympic League title in a row. A loss to the Buccaneers April 30, however, complicated things.

The Vikes currently lead the league 11-4. Port Angeles is a win behind, 10-5.

A win over the Bucs would have put the Vikes in perfect position to take the title.

Instead, the Vikes must win against Olympic today, May 1. If the Vikes lose to Olympic, and PA defeats Sequim, the Vikes and PA will share the title.

If the Vikes win and take the title, they will be the top seed going into sub-districts.

The title race became hazy after the Bucs won on their home field.

The Kingston team, currently sixth in the league (8-8), scored four in the first, two in the second and two in the fourth.
