Olympic Tigers
The Olympic Tigers, a Junior American Legion AA baseball team made up of players from Olympic High School, will begin the postseason Saturday.
The Tigers were 21-6 going into the final two games of the regular season Wednesday and Thursday and enter the Area 2 playoffs as a No. 1 seed. They will face either Chehalis or Centralia in the first round of the eight-team, double-elimination tournament at noon Saturday at Foss High School in Tacoma.
Two victories would propel the Tigers to the state tournament for the second time in as many summers. The team placed third at state in 2009.
“We’re having a great season, but it’s not going to be a cakewalk to state,” coach Nate Andrews said.
