A school in Africa will benefit from a project that Kingston Girl Scout Martha Rabura is working on.
Rabura hopes to send over 2,400 books and $1,800 to the Mallory Jansen Children of the Nations’ School in Sierra Leone, Africa.
New or gently used children’s books including picture books, children’s novels (through the fourth-grade reading level) non-fiction and children’s reference materials published since 2000 are being sought.
Rabura is a Kingston High School student and the book drive is part of her Gold Award Girl Scout project.
On March 14, 15 percent of proceeds from the Kitsap Mall Barnes & Noble book store will go toward the project. Used Bookfair ID 11569639 at check-out.
Nook and Kindle e-readers are also accepted. Trashy or violent books are not wanted. Rabura may be contacted by phone at 360-297-3674 (Home) or 253-350-7384 (Cell).
