Protestors of the recently approved Sterling Hills Estates off Anderson Hill Road are worried future homeowners in the development will eventually try to close the Apex Airport because of noise.
Talk about jumping the gun.
People really will complain about anything and everything. There is no saying what these homeowners will do in the future. To use the “What if” factor is completely absurd. After delaying the project, members of Apex Property Owners Improvement Association got their way and all future homeowners will have to agree they are aware planes do indeed fly over their homes. It’s a road block the developer shouldn’t have had to face.
Fortunately, Kitsap County made the right decision in its approval of Sterling Hills. This new housing development will add 151 homes to the area. That equals jobs and revenue to Central Kitsap and it’s exactly what we need right now. We should bolster development that will bring economic vitality to this community, not push it away.
The developer also has agreed to build sidewalks and bike lanes inside and around the development as well as upgrade a turn signal at Provost and Anderson Hill roads.
People are often adverse to change, but change is often the catalyst behind growth. It will be interesting to see those in opposition of this project eat their words when they are benefitting from the revenue this project is slated to bring to Silverdale. Though, they may never admit it. But “What if?”
