Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) detectives obtained a search warrant Tuesday afternoon for a Sunde Road home in Silverdale after state Department of Corrections staff smelled marijuana coming from the residence.

Corrections staff were conducting a compliance check on Joseph Reichert, a 28-year-old Silverdale man, at about 9:30 a.m. when they smelled an odor of marijuana.

“The state Department of Corrections makes random visits to ensure compliance with provisions set forth by the court,” Kitsap County Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson said.

Deputies later detained Reichert, but were unsure of how many other people were in the residence.

“He was not forthcoming with any information,” Wilson said. “We didn’t know if there were others inside who were armed.”

A second man, Roy Brandenberg Jr. of Bremerton, 22, was detained at about 12:55 p.m., according to Wilson.

Detectives searched the home as well as a tattoo parlor in the 2800 block of Kitsap Way which is associated with both suspects. They seized more than 9 pounds of processed, packaged marijuana, two Lexus vehicles, a handgun and more than $12,000, according to Wilson.

Reichert was arrested and booked into jail for Violation of the Uniformed Controlled Substance Act: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and for a Department of Corrections warrant for failure to provide a valid address. His bail is set at $250,000.

Brandenberg was arrested and booked into jail for Violation of the Uniformed Controlled Substance Act: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and for felon in possession of a firearm. His bail also is set at $250,000.
