The City of Bremerton will install new energy-efficient lighting and windows in six city buildings as part of an effort to cut energy costs.
The upgrades will be paid for by a federal conservation grant and a matching donation from Puget Sound Energy, totaling more than $200,000.
New lighting will be installed in the Bremerton Water Utility Building on Olympus Drive, the Police Department building, the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Fourth Street and Washington Avenue parking garage and Fire Station No. 3 on Olympus Drive. The Puget Sound Naval Museum will receive energy-efficient windows.
The upgrades are estimated to save the city more than $12,700 in energy costs.
