BREMERTON — On Saturday, Suquamish Warriors will provide free shuttle service from North Kitsap to the countywide Stand Down for Veterans and Their Families, at Sheridan Community Center, 780 Lebo, East Bremerton.
Doors are open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Identification is required for entry.
Veterans are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their DD214 for better service. Military, retired military, Reserves, National Guard or VA ID cards are acceptable. Unaccompanied spouses must bring DD214 and proof of relationship.
A wide range of free goods, services and information will be available, including camping gear and sleeping bags, clothing, dental screenings, groceries, haircuts, a hot meal, hygiene items, legal assistance, help changing child support payments, enrollment in VA health care system, and financial assistance, housing and dealing with foreclosure.
The free shuttle will depart Suquamish Casino at 9:30 a.m. and Gateway Church at 9:40 a.m., 18901 8th Ave., Poulsbo. The route will be repeated on an hourly basis.
