SEATTLE — Kitsap County Commissioner Josh Brown was re-elected president of the Puget Sound Regional Council June 7.
The council later honored Gov. Chris Gregoire, presenting her with the VISION 2040 award for her leadership in “strengthening the foundations for the region’s future in the areas of transportation, higher education, the health of Puget Sound and aerospace.”
Earlier in the day, Gregoire visited Suquamish for an annual meeting with tribal government leaders.
The Puget Sound Regional Council includes elected representatives from counties, cities, towns, state agencies, transit agencies, ports, and tribal governments. The council develops policies and coordinates decisions about regional growth, transportation and economic development planning within King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties.
