Two Bremerton geoduck divers were taken to hospitals Tuesday after their support boat dragged them into deep water in Port Madison.
A 50-year-old woman was flown from Suquamish to Harborview Medical center in Seattle at about 1:30 p.m. The woman was in stable condition as of 7:15 p.m., North Kitsap Fire & Rescue spokeswoman Michele Laboda said.
Her diving companion, a 27-year-old man, was driven to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
Laboda said the commercial divers would be evaluated for injuries related to rapid depth changes.
The divers were working in about 50 feet of water when strong winds pushed their support boat into deeper water. The divers were tethered to the boat, which dragged them to a depth of about 85 feet. They were then pulled to the surface by workers on the support boat.
