CAPT. LELAND J. DALY, USA

Hometown: Port Orchard.

Branch: U.S. Army.

Years of service: 1940-46.

Highest rank attained: Captain (enlisted as a private).

Significant duty stations or deployments during the War: Saw action in Normandy, France-Belgium, Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe; wounded in Belgium in January 1945.

POST-WAR CAREER: Served in Korea 1950-51, fought in three battles, retired from the Army in 1962 as a lieutenant colonel.  Civil defense director for Kitsap County, 1968-1982.
