SILVERDALE — Donate to Children of the Nations by Aug. 31 and it will be matched by a group of donors.
To commemorate the organization’s 20th anniversary, a group of donors has pledged to match up to $400,000 of donations given to the organization by Aug. 31. The funds from this “$400K Challenge” will be used to meet the needs of impoverished children in Africa and the Caribbean by providing food, education, medical care and more.
Children of the Nations, or COTN, provides care for some of the poorest children in Dominican Republic, Haiti, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Uganda. COTN works to break the cycle of poverty that leaves children without education, proper nutrition and medical care.
“Our desire is to increase each child’s opportunities for success,” said Chris Clark, COTN’s founder. “Our hope is that each child will take what they have learned and become an agent of transformation in their nation.”
