The September meeting will feature Jim Trainer, a nationally known community forester. He is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist, Washington State University Master Gardner for 25 years and founding member of the Kitsap Trees and Shoreline Association (known as KiTSA), a non-profit tree organization.

Trainer’s topic will be “Trees and Treetures.” Come learn about the trees and treetures of our forests, their identification, sounds and habitats. Trainer does volunteer environmental work for KiTSA, Illahee Preserve and many other projects throughout Kitsap County.

The Kingston Garden Club’s Sept. 17 meeting takes place at Redeemer United Methodist Church, located on the corner of Parcell and Shorty Campbell roads. There is a social time at 9 a.m. with Trainer’s presentation following at 9:30 a.m. Novice and experienced gardeners are invited to join meetings.
