POULSBO — Kitsap County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Brossel will be dismissed of a driving under the influence charge if he can comply with a Diversion Agreement with Poulsbo Municipal court, according to court documents.

Brossel was off duty when he was arrested on April 24 in Poulsbo for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was formally charged in Poulsbo Municipal Court on May 4 and was placed on administrative duty by the Sheriff’s Office.

According to court documents, a May 12 diversion agreement with Poulsbo Municipal Court requires Brossel to pay $800, attend a drunk driving victim’s panel, obtain a chemical dependency evaluation, and complete a defensive driving course. He cannot have or drink alcohol until he provides written proof to the court clerk that he has no significant alcohol problems.
