POULSBO — A bell from St. Olaf’s Catholic Church was reported stolen on March 24.

The bell, donated to the church as a 40-year anniversary gift, according to the police report, was taken sometime between 9 a.m. March 23 and 10 a.m. March 24.

Facility manager Storm Josef Smole reported the bell missing.

“There were no leads given by the reporting party that might lead to a possible suspect,” said David Shurick, the Poulsbo police officer who took the report.

The bronze bell was described as being 14 inches in width and 14 inches in height, with an estimated value of $1,000. There was an engraving on the front of the bell that read, “1968-2008 St. Olaf Parish,” though Shurick said he was “not sure if they stated this was the exact inscription.”

If you have information about the bell or who may have taken it, contact the Poulsbo Police Department at 360-779-3113.
