POULSBO — The City Council received a brief overview of proposed changes to the zoning code Wednesday from planning staff, and will dive into the changes at a workshop next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
However, the meeting begins at 6 with a review of public road conditions and restoration. The meeting is open to the public.
Planning staff and the Planning Commission have been overhauling the city’s zoning code for the past two years, and have reorganized the structure of the document and added new commercial uses. City planning consultant Karla Boughton said most of the document’s amendments are in Section II, Land Use Districts. The code now officially divides the city from two commercial districts into four: Downtown/Front Street, Viking Avenue, SR 305 Corridor, and College MarketPlace.
The zoning code was last updated in 2001.
The draft zoning code can be reviewed on the city’s website, www.cityofpoulsbo.com/planning/planning_codeam_2010.htm, under “City Council Review.”
