They’ll hear us on election day

Array

In support of Pauline Cornelius and her Feb. 19 Independent Guest Opinion (“Olympia never tires of igoring our wishes”), I’d just like to offer some additional evidence.

I seem to recall the voters turning down a new Narrows Bridge three times on election ballots, yet we have a new bridge.

I seem to recall light rail being voted down on ballots by the voters, yet it now runs from Tacoma to Everett, I believe.

I seem to recall voters turning down a tunnel to replace the viaduct in Seattle.

I recall Gov. Christine Gregoire talking about voter rejection of both a new viaduct and a tunnel in Seattle, saying she didn’t care what the voters wanted because she was going to do what she wanted on that issue.

Unless I’m wrong, they’re drilling the tunnel right now in Seattle.

Don’t be deceived, Pauline, by all you see or hear, because they do listen — just to each other, not you and me.

On the Initiative 960 issue, you and I do have two elected officials expressing our disgust and distrust, specifically, Jan Angel (R-Port Orchard) and Derek Kilmer (D-Gig Harbor).

As far as the rest of our 26th District elected officials, they can all look for some other career.

I personally will do all that I can as a lone person to get them all voted out of office.
