A Bremerton woman told police that she was attacked at about 6:30 p.m. April 23 near her home at the intersection of Pine Road and Roswell Drive.
The woman said that a man walking a Pomeranian bit her lip and knocked one of her teeth out after he said it was okay to pet the dog. After petting the dog, she said she started to walk away.
“The male then grabbed her left arm and pulled her towards him,” a police report states. “She kicked the male and started to run off before the male grabbed her again. After the male grabbed (her) the second time, the male bit her lip. (She) kicked the male again. The male then punched her, causing a tooth to fall out. One of (her) shoes then fell off so she threw it at the male. The male threw the shoe back at her so she grabbed her shoe and ran back to the residence.”
The woman said that she was heading out for a run when the assault occurred on the driveway of the Bremerton Elks Lodge. She was transported to the hospital and a K9 unit was called in to track the suspect but was unable to do so. A police report indicates that no suspect was identified.
