Jane M. Morton, 87
Jane M. Morton of Hansville died Jan. 18. She was 87.
Morton was born to Eugene and Ruth (Gilham) Searle in Seattle on Sept. 29, 1920. She married Arthur Morton on Feb. 28, 1942 in Bremerton.
Morton graduated from Bremerton High School in 1939, and worked as a bookkeeper for the East Bremerton Doctors Clinic during the early 1970s. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Hansville Community Club.
Morton loved to cook and traveled extensively with her husband. They enjoyed entertaining friends and family at their home. She also liked camping and clam digs at the ocean.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; son, William E. Morton and brother, Jack Searle. She is survived by son, Robert of Bainbridge Island; daughter, Patti Morton of Poulsbo; 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Heather and Brent; niece, Nancy Koch of Bremerton and companion/caretaker, Susan McConnell.
At the family’s request, no formal services will be held. Inurnment will take place at the Hansville Cemetery.
