Lowell W. Anderson died March 30, 2007, in Bremerton of heart failure. He was 61.
Mr. Anderson was born on June 19, 1945, in Bremerton to Lowell W. and Dorothy M. (Froggatt) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson graduated from West High School in Bremerton in 1963 and from Olympic Community College in 1966. He graduated from Western Washington University in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in education (political science).
He married Elizabeth Gomez on Oct. 27, 1972, in Angeles City, Philippines. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from March 1969 to December 1972 as a radio communications analyst during Vietnam, stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines.
Mr. Anderson was a Veterans Affairs (VA) ratings specialist for 34 years in Seattle and Bremerton. He was instrumental in developing the VA office in Bremerton and served in several positions during his tenure.
Family and work were huge priorities in his life. He loved spending time with loved ones, enjoyed NASCAR, baseball and listening to the radio, especially programs from his youth.
Survivors include his wife of the family home; son Robert Lowell Anderson of Bellingham; daughter JoAnn Anderson of Seattle; sisters Shirley McConnell of Bremerton, Veniese Williams of Bremerton and Barbara Pudinski of Rancho Mirage, Calif; and coworkers from the VA.
A viewing is scheduled for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. There will be a private burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Lewis Funeral Chapel. An online memorial is available at www.lewischapel.com.
