Gladys Shold Maxim died Dec. 13 in Poulsbo. She was 82.
She was born at home on Nov. 21, 1927 to Jacob and Ingeborg (Odden) Shold. She attended Seattle University and Virginia Mason School of Nursing and graduated with her nursing certificate. She worked as a registered nurse for Harrison Medical Center and retired in 1990. Gladys was a member of the Sons of Norway in West Bremerton, Lone Eagles Travel Club, volunteered for the Red Cross, local schools and was a member of Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling in her motor home, fishing, Husky football, camping and visiting Sweden and Norway. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ingeborg and Jacob, brothers, Walton and Arnold, and husband, Dale. Surviving are her children, Steven (Cathy), Clayton (Melody), Glen (Lori), Kathryn (Lance) Baze and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. at Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nels Nelson Road NW, Bremerton.
