Former Suquamish resident Margaret L. Jordan died Aug. 16, 2003 in Milwaulkie, Ore. She was 93.
Jordan was born Margaret Halstead on May 7, 1910 in Seattle. She was the daughter of a seagoing family.
She married John A. Jordan in Seattle and then the couple moved to the Bremerton area.
Jordan worked as the business manager for Jordan Radio and Television and then for the Jordan Laundromat in Suquamish.
While living in Suquamish, Jordan was active in the Suquamish Congregational United Church of Christ, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Poulsbo Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star. She was awarded lifetime membership in the PTA for her years of volunteer service tutoring and helping in classrooms.
She moved to Portland, Ore. after her husband’s death, where she was active in the Parkrose United Church of Christ and Parkrose Chapter #151 Order of the Eastern Star.
Jordan is survived by her daughter Jackie Buisman and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Jordan.
A private inurnment will be held at Miller-Woodlawn Cemetery in Bremerton. Arrangements are by Bateman Carroll Funeral Home of Gresham, Ore.
