Timothy Reidinger died April 12, 2007, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. The Silverdale resident was 56.
Mr. Reidinger was born to Mildred Horangic and Jetson Reidinger. He graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Navy, worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, joined the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and retired in 1999.
He married Heather Lawton of Seattle in 1982, moved to Elgin, Ill. and bought an 1890s mansion. He spent the next 15 years turning a house into a home, raising a family of four children and building long-lasting friendships.
The couple bought property in Silverdale in 1997 and proceeded to build their dream home. Despite his illness, he did much of the design and construction himself.
Mr. Reidinger was a proactive patient who constantly researched new methods of attacking his sarcoma, surviving nearly 10 years. His witty, cheerful outlook never flagged. He had extra-ordinary faith and perseverance as did his wife who cared for him throughout his long battle.
He is survived by his wife; children Arianne (Kevin) Mizuta, Alea, Barrett, and Bryce Reidinger; identical twin Fredrick; brother Patrick; sister Ann Haggarty; plus a large, extended family.
Rosary recitation and funeral services were at St. Olaf Church in Poulsbo on April 16. Arrangements were by Cook Family Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Knights of Columbus, Council 8297.
