Edith M. Gordanier died on Feb. 8 at HomePlace Care Center in Oak Harbor. She was 103.

She was born in Rockford on Nov. 22, 1906.

She was preceded in death by an older brother and two younger sisters.

She was the widow of U.S. Navy Capt. John W. (Bud) Gordanier, whom she married in 1933. The couple retired in Poulsbo in 1969.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan Birdsell, of Cheney; a son, Charles Gordanier, of Whidbey Island; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Feb. 20 at Whidbey Presbyterian Church in Oak Harbor.
