Dorothy K. Carr died Dec. 7, 2007 in Poulsbo. She was 97.

Carr was born in Spokane on Aug. 27, 1910.

She married George J. Carr in 1930.

Carr graduated from Queen Anne High School.

She worked as a retail owner in Baldwin Park, Calif. She used to visit her relatives in Poulsbo as a young teenager, taking the Mosquito Fleet ferry from Seattle to Poulsbo.

Carr is survived by her son George J. Carr Jr. of Bainbridge Island; grandchildren Leslie Kastelle of Bothell, James Carr of Bainbridge Island and Kate Anderson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Cook Family Funeral Home.

Private services will be held at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent.
