Winifred R. ‘Peggy’ Davis, 97
Winifred R. “Peggy” Davis of Poulsbo died Nov. 9, 2003. She was 97.
Davis was born to Thomas McTague and Mary O’Reilly in Seattle in 1906.
She married Wayne G. Davis in Seattle in 1925.
Davis worked as a lab technician and assistant for Dr. Bannick of Seattle, was a published author and from 1950 to 1969 was the office manager for the Gordon T. Shaw Company in Seattle.
She enjoyed a number of pioneering accomplishments within the German Shorthair Club of Washington and the Northwest Field Trial Council. She was a member of the North Kitsap Friends of the Library. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star Midnight Sun Chapter No. 6 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Davis is survived by grandsons Marc (Dana) Whitford of Burien and Stuart (Krista) Whitford of Poulsbo; granddaughter Becky (Brad) Thiessen of Honolulu, Hawaii; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne G. Davis and daughter Mary K. Whitford.
At Davis’ request, no formal service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at the home of Stuart Whitford at a date to be announced.
