Marilyn Ann Birkeland, 64

Marilyn Ann Birkeland of Eglon died April 11 after a short battle with cancer. She was 64.

Birkeland was born in Port Gamble to Melvin and Alta Myrvik. On Jan. 16, 1960, she married David Birkeland. They were together 48 years.

Birkeland enjoyed rides to the beach, cows and deer in her yard, her six grandchildren and a good western on TV.

She is survived by her husband David, daughters Kim Ketchum (Louis) of Arlington and Karla Bynum (Randy) of Kingston, sister Bonnie Greenfield of Renton and brother Mervin Myrvik of Scottsdale, Ariz.

She is also survived by grandchildren Steven and Wendy Bynum, Jacob and Kristal Foley, and Louie and Keyara Ketchum. A celebration of life and potluck memorial open house will be held at the Eglon Community Center from 1-5 p.m. on April 19.
