Melissa Ruth Berg (Kabelac) died Oct. 20 at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton after a battle with renal cancer. She was 53.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1956.

She is survived by her mother, Lesley Ann Kabelac ; her husband, Jerry Berg Sr.; a son, Jerry Berg Jr.; a daughter, Kristina Jay Blackwell; a sister, Deborah Vedin; and two grandchildren: Austin Ray Blackwell and Brennen Louis  Blackwell.

A celebration of her life was at Chico Alliance Church.
