Lillian Panteleeff

Lillian B. Panteleeff was born in Seattle, Washington on May 12, 1918 to Charles and Lillian Walker. She passed away at Montclair Park in Poulsbo, WA on May 16, 2010.

Lilly attended the Seattle Public Schools, graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1936 and then worked for the Seattle Public Schools as an elementary secretary until her marriage to Anatole “Tony” Panteleeff in June of 1939.

In 1945 the family moved into a rental house on Miller Bay and then spent every spare minute for the next five years building their own home on the bay where they shared many wonderful years together. Tony was an avid gardener so Lilly spent many summer hours canning the fruits and vegetables for her family. She was a wonderful mother and her children have fond memories of coming home from school to the smell of fresh baked bread, cookies, pies and cakes.

Lilly and Tony joined the Suquamish Congregation Church together in January of 1961 and the church quickly became the center of their social life. Lilly was a Sunday School teacher, treasurer of the Dorcas Circle for many years and always enjoyed working at the Christmas Bazaar and church dinners. Many of their lifelong friends were from the church.

Lilly also volunteered at the Martha and Mary Nursing Home for over 20 years, playing the piano. Music was important to Lilly. Her family and friends remember many Christmas Eve Parties at the Miller Bay home around the piano. In her later years she became an avid bridge player and she continued to play until one month prior to her passing.

Lilly was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Tony, in 1997 and her three brothers; Will, Tommy and Fred Walker. She is survived by her two children, Dale Panteleeff (Judy) of Bainbridge Island and Lilly Ann Myhre (Karl) of Snohomish. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Megan Myhre Wells (Don), Kurt Myhre (Amanda), Tanya Baker (Patrick), Stephanie Aichele (Troy), Tyler Panteleeff (Dana) and a dozen great grandchildren whom she enjoyed so much.

The family would like to thank Montclair Park and Hospice of Kitsap County for the wonderful care they provided Lilly in her final days.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 30 at the Suquamish United Church of Christ, Geneva and Division Sts., Suquamish, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, P.O. Box 3416, Silverdale, WA 98383 or Suquamish UCC, P.O. Box 318, Suquamish, WA 98392.
