Dedrick “Bud” Sheets, 67
Dedrick “Bud” Sheets of Bremerton died Sept. 23, 2005 in Bremerton. He was 67.
Sheets was born to Kermit and Lillian Sheets in Clearbrook, Minn. on Feb. 24, 1938.
He married Susan Schneeweis on May 27, 1961 in Mt. Iron, Minn.
He attended schools in Crystal, North Dakota and the police academy at Ventura College.
Sheets served in the Navy as a gunner’s mate from 1955-1959 and from 1963-1965. After his military service, he served as an officer in the Oxnard, Calif. Police Department before retiring in 1978.
Upon his retirement from the police force, Sheets then worked as an inspector for the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency covering all of Kitsap County from 1979 to 1994.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his eight grandchildren.
Sheets is survived by son Steven (Stephanie) Sheets of Everett; daughter Julie Stuart of Kingston; brother Sylvan Sheets of Las Vegas; sister Cathy (Gordon) Hadrava of Bemidji, Nev.; and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 5. at the Miller Bay Clubhouse, 22125 Sunridge Way.
