Marie A. Cook died Feb. 1. She was 75.
Cook was born Jan. 27, 1935, in Tacoma to Donald and Marie Fassett.
She was raised and educated on Bainbridge Island and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in teaching in 1957.
Cook taught home economics at North Kitsap High School and in 1967 she met and married Eugene F. Cook (Gene). Cook taught third grade at Poulsbo Elementary from 1967-87.
She was very active in the Sons of Norway.
Cook was a long time member of First Lutheran Church and active in the Lutheran World Relief Program.
She was preceded in death by her father Donald Fassett; her son Gerald V. Cook; and her daughter Kristine Yenne.
She is survived by her husband Gene; her mother Marie Fassett of Lacey; two sisters: Alice Fisher (Wayne) of Onalaska and Dana Fassett (Jerry Wagner) of Lacey; three daughters: Constance Yenne (Bruce Williams) of Bainbridge Island, Barbara Rasaie (Amir) of Redmond and Linda Pendletonof Mount Airy, Md.; son Stephen Cook Fremonti (Gwen) of Cottage Grove, Ore.; and grandchildren John and Scott Flodin, Javaud Rasaie,Yauseen Vlachos, Auzeen Rasaie, Luigi, Leo and Gabriel Fremonti.
Funeral service will be held Feb. 6 at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. Internment will be at the Port Blakely Cemetery.
