Stella Jean Alexander of Poulsbo died in Bremerton July 1, 2003. She was 83.
Alexander was born to Walter and Eva (Hockiellen) Shafer on May 16, 1920 in Sunnyside.
Alexander graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1937 and attended Mary-Stone Beauty School in Seattle.
She married George N. Alexander on Oct. 15, 1944 in Seattle.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, visiting with friends and spoiling her great-grandsons. Alexander also was a longtime supporter of the Poulsbo Library and served as its auxiliary president.
She also volunteered at Martha & Mary and was a member of Lofall Baptist Church.
Alexander is survived by her son Grant (Farrell) Alexander of Poulsbo; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Alexander, daughter Jennifer Alexander and brother Walter Shafer.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. July 5 at Breidablik Baptist Church and will be followed by interment at the Poulsbo City Cemetery.
