Maryann Anderson

Maryann Anderson 81, Poulsbo died on April 26th 2010 peacefully at home with her family by her side.  Maryann was born i Poulsbo to Christoper and Minnie (Fredrickson) McGinty on May 28th 1928, the youngest of 5 children.  She was raised in Poulsbo. Maryann married James E Anderson Sr. on March 5th, 1947.  They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniv.  She is survived by her husband Jim, her children, Arlene Xenos, Jim Anderson Jr. Mike Anderson (Maureen) Grandchildren Bob Anderson, Cory Northman (Mark) Justin Anderson 4 great grand children and 1 Great Great Granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Anderson.

  She worked at the Bremerton shipyard during WWII and was a bookkeeper for her husbands various businesses, Jim’s Richfield, Jim’s Towing, and Jim’s Auto Wrecking.

  In the past she was a member of the Birthday Club, and the Hospital Guild.  She was a current member of the Sons of Norway and The Ladies Club.  She enjoyed knitting afghans for her children and grandchildren and many baby blankets.  She enjoyed working in her yard with her Rhodies and Exotic plants in pots on the back deck in recent years. 

  She took great pride in raising her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending morning with her Great Great Granddaughter Haley, making it 5 generations.

Public visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4pm and Thursday from 10am-12pm. A funeral service will be held this Friday at The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary, at 12pm, a family burial will be held at Poulsbo Cemetery. A gathering for family & friends will be held at the Sons of Norway in downtown Poulsbo directly after the service.
