Nona Raftery, 90

Silverdale resident Nona Sophia Raftery died Nov. 7, 2004 in Silverdale. She was 90.

Raftery was born to Paul C. and Eleanor (Fischer) Klein in Hammond, Ind. on Dec. 8, 1913.

She married Edward Raftery in Pasadena, Calif. in 1939.

Raftery graduated from Pasadena High School and Junior College in 1931. She also attended beauty school.

She and Edward lived in Eagle Rock, Calif. where she was a homemaker.

Raftery had been active in her Lutheran church in California and had been a resident of Kitsap County for the past three years. She enjoyed working with people and loved to draw.

She was a Lutheran.

She is survived by her sons Paul Raftery of Reno, Nev. and Peter Raftery of Ventura, Calif.; daughter Eleanor Douglas of Poulsbo; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward.

Services were held in Yucaipa, Calif. with local arrangements by The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.
