Pauline Dermody Harney died Sept. 7, 2003 in Seattle. She was 97.
Harney was born in Platte, S.D. on June 29, 1906.
She married Edward Harney in 1932.
Harney graduated from Seattle University.
She taught in Sioux City, Iowa for six years before her marriage. After that, Harney ran family stores in Seattle from 1941 to 1958 and then taught in Seattle schools from 1958 to 1972. She retired to Seattle and then Poulsbo.
Harney is survived by her son Jim (Aladene) Harney of Poulsbo; daughter Patricia (Larry) Curd of Seattle; son-in-law Robert Peterson of Seattle; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Harney, daughter Sheila Peterson and grandson David Peterson.
A Rosary was said Sept. 12 at St. Bridget’s Church in Seattle. Funeral Mass will take place at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 13 at the same location, with burial following at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery.
