Harry F. Lane, 88

Harry F. Lane of Indianola died March 12, 2007 in Indianola. He was 88.

Lane was born to Harry and Bernice (Jones) Lane in Phoenix, Ariz. on July 24, 1918.

He married Wilma Ridge on Dec. 11, 1943 in Seattle.

He graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1936.

Lane served in the Navy from 1939 to 1959, retiring with the rank of chief yeoman. He also worked as an insurance adjuster.

He enjoyed farming, reading and listening to Big Band music.

Lane is survived by his wife Wilma Lane of Indianola; sons John (Yvette) Lane of Indianola and Robert (Marie) Lane of Bainbridge Island; daughters Laura Taylor of Poulsbo and Sarah (Billy) Runnels of Kingston; sisters Dorothy Slagle of Arizona and Jeanne Ockels of California; half-sisters Martha Lane of Florida, Mary (John) Ortiz of Oregon, and Sue (Dana) Talley of New York; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 27 at Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo.
