David G. R. Cowie, 34
David G. R. Cowie of Poulsbo died March 25, 2005. He was 34.
Cowie was born to June (Ralston) and David Cowie on Oct. 5, 1970 in Seattle.
He married Mary Schott on Memorial Day weekend, May 23, 1998 at Fort Warden in Port Townsend.
Cowie graduated in 1997 from Western Washington University with a BA in history and earned his teaching certificate from Central Washington University in 1998. He had been a teacher at North Kitsap High School since 2002.
Cowie enjoyed teaching, snowboarding, golf, spending time with his wife and playing with his daughter. He died at home surrounded by family and friends after a 6 1/2 year battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Mary Cowie of Poulsbo; daughter Allison Cowie; brother Sy Cowie of Edmonds; sister Lynn Anderson of Portland, Ore.; mother June Anderson of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; father David Cowie of Edmonds; and stepfather Glen Anderson of Pleasant Hill, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 22 at Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo.
A memory book will be created for Allison Cowie and those attending the service are asked to provide a story, thought or picture to add to it.
