George A. Martin

George A. Martin, 76

George Alexander Martin of Poulsbo died May 6, 2007. He was 76.

Martin was born to George and Bertha Martin in Harvey, N.D.

He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in journalism.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He worked as a reporter for a small newspaper in North Dakota and also for the Arizona Republic. He later worked for the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.

Martin is survived by daughters Ruth Peterson of Bainbridge Island and Susan (Rex) Gamble of Tucson, Ariz.; brothers Tom (Laurie) Martin of Salisbury, N.H. and Jim (Margaret) of College Park, Va.
