Steven Michael Sibbett, 25

Indianola resident Steven Michael Sibbett died June 23, 2007. He was 25.

Sibbett was born in Incheon, South Korea on March 9, 1982 and grew up in Indianola.

He worked as a deckhand, cook and engineer on the tugboat “Island Chief.” He recently passed all of the Coast Guard exams in preparation for earning his captain’s license.

Sibbett enjoyed playing at the beach with his friends as a kid, which inspired his love of Puget Sound. He spent his free time with his family and friends.

Sibbett is survived by his parents Bill and Becky; his brother Peter; his sisters Beth, Lisa and Jeannie; his girlfriend Heidi; his Grandma Jean, Grandma Sis, Grandpa Ralph, Grandpa Bill and Grandma Bev; seven nieces and nephews; his in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Donald.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. June 30 at the North Kitsap Community Auditorium.
