Dorothy M. Maxwell, 87

Hansville resident Dorothy May Maxwell died March 17, 2005 in Tacoma. She was 87.

She was born to William and Ella May Beyers in Seattle on April 17, 1917.

Maxwell married Leroy H. Maxwell on Sept. 6, 1940 in Seattle.

She graduated from Highline High School in Burien in 1935. She attended the University of Washington for one year.

Maxwell worked as an office assistant for the Seattle Credit Union in Seattle for two years beginning in 1938.

She enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing and visits from her family and grandkids.

Maxwell is survived by her husband Leroy H. Maxwell of Hansville; son William J. (Dorothy) Maxwell of Issaquah; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her brothers William Beyers and George Beyers; sister Helen Guthrie; and daughters Marilyn Gustafson and Laura Maxwell.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. March 26 at Hansville Community Church in Hansville.
