Richard H. Vandenhole, 76

Hansville resident Richard Hurmine Vandenhole died Oct. 14, 2004 in Hansville. He was 76.

He was born to Richard J. and Madelaine J. (Henrist) Vandenhole in Central Falls, R.I. on Dec. 15, 1927.

Vandenhole graduated from Providence High School in Providence, R.I. in 1945.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1948 and served in World War II and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal.

Vandenhole worked as a quality control inspector for Boeing and United Technologies Corporation.

He was the past president of the Newark, Calif. Lions Club and a life member of the Gresham, Ore. Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had a passion for music and loved spending time with his dog “Lacy Lee.”

He is survived by his sons David J. Vandenhole of Cornelius, Ore. and Richard “Rick” H. (Anna) Vandenhole of Hansville; daughters Judy M. (Jose) Mendoza of Veneta, Ore., Debora J. (Dennis) Escalante of West Linn, Ore. and Lisa E. (Ed) Stokes of New Berg, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held on Oct. 15 at The Stone Chapel. An interment took place at the Tahoma National Cemetery.
