It’s hard to believe how few Kitsap County residents attend a Kitsap County commissioners’ monthly meetings (held twice a month).
Don’t people even care how county officials spend their hard-earned tax dollars? Young people — in particular — should be active and want to attend these commissioners’ meetings and be interested in how the county works. Believe me, most people don’t know.
The county commissioners are in a sense the most powerful part of county government. They are like the “presidents of the county.”
I personally attend the meetings whenever I can, so I can voice my opinion on various things they are doing and what they are spending money on.
More of the public should do the same. They might be shocked to see how the county commissioners are spending their money.
Be concerned. Be informed. Be proactive.
