Stuart J. Menge, 68
Kingston resident Stuart Jerome Menge died May 16, 2004 in Kingston. He was 68.
Menge was born to Robert E. and Neva M. (Powell) Menge in Denver, Colo. on March 13, 1936.
He married Patricia M. Donovan on Aug. 20, 1977 in Seattle.
Menge graduated from high school in Vancouver, Wash. in 1954. He graduated University of Washington in Seattle and took electronic engineering courses at Clark County Community College in Vancouver.
He was in the U.S. Navy and Reserves for 32 years and achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.
He worked at the applied physics laboratory at the University of Washington in Seattle for 19 years. He also worked as an electronics engineer at Keyport for 16 years until his retirement in 1996.
In his youth, Menge was a member of Demolay of Vancouver and was an Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts; as an adult, he was a member of the Elks of Bremerton and the Sons of Norway of Poulsbo. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed volunteering to help his church, Redeemer United Methodist Church of Kingston, where he was a member.
Menge is survived by his wife Patricia M. (Donovan) Menge of Kingston; sons Greg J. (Karen) Williams of Bremerton, Rex L. Menge of Vancouver and Scott Menge of Marysville; daughters Elaina M. (Copeland) Reihl of Texas and Julie Menge of Washington; sister Barbara E. (Herbert) Wuensch of Kingston; and 17 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. June 5 at Redeemer United Methodist Church in Kingston. Funeral arrangements are under the care of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove Memorial Park of Poulsbo.
