Frank Germaine, 62
Frank Germaine, 62, of Poulsbo, died peacefully while napping in his lawn chair in Bullhead City, Ariz., on April 10.
He was born Sept. 14, 1945, to George and Dorothy Germaine in Bremerton. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1964. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army and was served as a military police officer for three years in Germany. He returned to Poulsbo where he met and married the love of his life, Pat Thompson.
Together they raised two daughters, Movae and Angie. After retiring from Keyport Naval Base as a civil servant, Frank and Pat spent the next 14 years traveling the country in their RV.
Germaine was most proud of his grandchildren and their accomplishments. He loved taking his grandkids on vacations, most recently spending two weeks at Disney World last December.
Germaine had many hobbies, including cooking for his family, fishing, crabbing, woodworking, reading and walking.
Germaine is survived by his wife, Pat; his daughters, Movae Sawyer (David) and Angie Hawkins (Steve); his four grandchildren, Dane Sawyer, Natalie Belle Sawyer, Rex James Hawkins and Hailey Jo Hawkins, all of Texas; six brothers and their wives: Chuck Sherman (Leora), Lee Sherman (Bobbie), Jerry Sherman (Jeanne), George Germaine (Cheryl), Tom Germaine (Ardy), Tim Germaine (Sara); step siblings: Larry Shoop and Rosie Fiallo, Mark Gura and Maria Escalante; Tony and Pat Fiallo; a foster sister, Beverly Vieira; three brothers-in-law: Bob Thompson, Steve Thompson (Leann), Harlan Thompson (Dot); and his 64 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Germaine’s life will be on Aug. 9 at My Girl Drive In in Kingston.
