The Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce and Kitsap Humane Society are joining forces Dec. 3 to present the annual Holiday Pet Costume Contest during the Festival of Chimes and Lights in downtown Port Orchard.

The event is a benefit for the Humane Society. Registration for pets is $5 per family (more than one pet is welcome), with registration starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Kitsap Bank drive-thru.

Pets will parade down Bay Street in their finest costumes, which will be judged for the contest. Costumes are required, as are leashes on pets.

Canned food donations for South Kitsap Helpline will be appreciated.

Sponsors of the event include State Farm — Dee Fitzgerald, Kitsap Veterinary Hospital, Mud Bay, Naturally 4 Paws, Cookie’s Pet Corner and Wash, and Port Orchard Public Market.
