Well, would you believe it, Bernie Sanders and now many liberals agree the voting system is rigged — not while they are winning, of course, only when they lose.
No one needs a crystal ball to know how they would have behaved if the shoe was on the other foot. We all witnessed the liberal howling when Donald Trump voiced his concerns on rigging, weeks before the outcome.
Originally, the Founding Fathers knew there were too many ill-informed citizens in our new nation, rapidly growing with immigrants and foreign influences. The electoral vote system was intended to offer a degree of protection for the new America and her Constitution.
The proportional representation method has served us for more than 200 years: good or bad, we have used it. And, like any system and law, it can be changed by Congress. So far, it has survived and I will predict its continuance for the original reasons of the Founding Fathers.
I will also predict the present ill feelings for the president-elect will wane as America grows and prosperity blossoms. All reasonable citizens will soon realize how easy it was to be misguided by biased and often corrupt media.
God bless America.
