” SUNDAY 7 POULSBO LIBRARY GRAND RE-OPENING: The grand re-opening will be celebrated at 1 p.m. with a ribbon cutting with an open house to follow from 1 to 5 p.m., at the library on Lincoln Ave. in Poulsbo. TRAVELOGUE: Ken Creed will narrate a film titled The New River, about the second oldest river on earth at a travelogue hosted by Kiwanis of Greater Poulsbo, 2 p.m. at North Kitsap auditorium, across the from the high school on Hostmark. WELCOME BACK: Catholics who have been away from the church are invited to Welcome Back, a parish program at St. Olaf’s designed to help people return to the sacraments and to the parish family. The program begins Jan. 9 and continues through the first week of February. Sessions will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Religious Education building across from the church. Classes include beginning and intermediate level courses. For information, call Grace at 779-8704.   UPCOMING RAINBOWS: Meetings of a group of children, youth and parents who are coping with divorce or death of a loved one will be held every Thursday evening for eight weeks beginning Jan. 18 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Religious Education Building at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart Ave. Trained volunteers lead separate groups for different age groups. WEST SOUND ACADEMY: Neil Simon’s comedy, The Good Doctor will be presented by West Sound Academy at the Bainbridge Island Playhouse (across from Bainbridge Cinema on Madison Avenue), Jan 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 20 at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $8, $6 for seniors and children. Call 297-7892 or 297-7355 for details. BOATSMART COURSE: The Agate Pass Power Squadron will offer a Boatsmart course beginning Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Phelps Road Fire Station on Bainbridge Island. The course runs for four consecutive Thursday nights and costs $25 for course materials. The next course begins March 29 at the Liberty Road Fire station in Poulsbo. Boating Safety for Kids will be offered in conjunction with the Boatsmart course. Information, call 206-842-5514 (9 to 5) or 360-297-7606.   ONGOING CITY OF POULSBO: Poulsbo City Council meets the first three Wednesdays of each month at 7 p.m. A number of committee meetings also take place at City Hall on the following schedule: Finance/Administration, First and Third Wednesdays 5 p.m.; Finance/Administration committee, First and Third Wednesdays of each month from 4 p.m. to 6:45, Public Safety/Legal Committee, Public Works Committee. Fourth Wednesday 4 p.m., Community Services Committee, 5 p.m., Public Works Committee. Information: 779-3901. All committee meetings are held in the Poulsbo City Hall Complex, 19050 Jensen Way NE. POULSBO PARKS & RECREATION: The Poulsbo Parks and Recreation commission meets the fourth Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Poulsbo City Council Chambers. NORTH SOUND BUSINESS NETWORK: a group of Kitsap businessmen and women, meets at Mitzel’s in Poulsbo every Thursday morning from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Only one member is allowed from each profession, and there are currently openings for new members in several categories, including medical and automotive.
